The details supplied no longer work for the application intended because of a field condition. The attachment area in which the awning attaches is not concrete. The outside of the beam is wood framed. The installers attached the awning the way they thought would work, but it is not an expectable change without the approval of the Engineer of record. 2) The installers used a cedar block to attach to the wood framing which is not a structural wood or is it to be used against concrete without a barrier. The blocks were then attached with 1/4" concrete screws to wood framing?
